The Functions and Importance of Digipaks

A digipak is type of CD packaging made of card which allows the audience to receive more information about the artist and/or band. They are often visually appealing as they can help catch the eye of the audience which in turn can boost sales of the CD. The structure of the digipak typically includes a gate fold (like a book) and are designed to fold into a square CD case

The typical features of digipaks are:

  1. The name of the band
  2. The name of the album
  3. Production information such as copyright etc.
  4. The track list of the album
  5. FRONT AND BACK: aim to promote the CD
  6. INSIDE: used for extra information
